Hello!

As you know this is E3 week.

The Xbox One has been analyzed, along with a huge amount of games and a 499 price point.

The Ps4 has been shown, as well as an exciting number of games and a 399 dollar price point.

What console and games are you excited for and why?

I personally are excited for the announcement of Kingdom Hearts 3 for PS4, Titanfall and Deadrising 3 for Xbox One.

You can find all the information as to the new consoles on ign.com

Xbox 1, because it forces us to realize that our entertainment is becoming centralized. Instead of purely focusing on the gaming aspect, it brings in new features from your TV, Apps, Gaming, etc. Most of you like the PS4 better, but I'd rather look at the bigger picture.

The bigger picture is that Microsoft is now looking to compete against technologies that already exists. Apple TV, Smart TV, 4k TV, TIVO, etc. So therefore the "next generation gaming experience" which is what a console is for will be lacking. This is really unfortunate, as gamers are the driving force behind sales for the Xbox.

The PS4 is 399 Dollars. Which this you get a console with superior graphics, more exclusive games, 500gb of storage, 5 dollars a month online service, backwards compatibility, does not require you to be online once every 24 hours to operate, used game support, and more.

Xbox One is 499 Dollars. With this you get less power in terms of processing/graphics than the PS4, you must pay a fee to play used games. It's not backwards compatible with 360 game, requires you to be online once every 24 hours, Some exclusives, New Halo, Call of duty content first before Sony.

Comparison source: http://www.ign.com/wikis....n_Chart

Also, 82% of players agree that Sony is winning E3

Source: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/11/who-is-winning-e3

Now, while you are one of the few % who are looking at "the bigger picture", I am also looking at "the bigger picture" as well. I am looking at the fact that a console is for gaming. That is why you make a console. Consoles are not for media entertainment. We already have more than enough devices that deliver those features! When you sit down and turn your console on, you play video games.

I am personally an Xbox Fanboy, always have been. Never before have I seen so many people disappointed.

Sony is defining the next generation of gaming and there is no way around it. Microsoft has messed up.. if you look at the stock market, Sony has gone up and Microsoft has gone down since the reveals.

The PS4 also has plenty of entertainment socialization, but Sony realizes this is not what people are looking for from a console. Simple as that.

So you are paying less for more by purchasing Sony. There really is just no way around it.

Remember! This is all opinion biggrin I am sure you will be happy with your Xbox One.

The next generation is disappointing me as a whole, as i know the reveals will not be the finished products as far as graphics and things of that nature, I feel like this generation is not as big a leap forward as was the PS3 and 360, I also feel XBOX took major steps backwards. I have always been an XBOX fanboy as well, bought 3 of those fuckers because they kept dying. 500$ for a fucking Skype box is an awful investment, as well as all the extra problems Crunchy mentioned above,I'll stay last gen for a bit. I am NOT excited for next generation gaming.

DRM is complete bullshit. you also cant sell or trade your xbox one games. i am a huge xbox fan boy, i i have never really liked any of the play station games, and then there is halo. but i do believe they make a pc version of halo, so when halo 5 comes out i will be getting my first ever FPS on a pc. if i get another counsel it will be a ps4. Microsoft really really fucked up, and we need to tell them that by not spending money on it. I wish nintendo would get its head out of its ass and make another counsel more focused ona regular controler and all, not the current wii system

Microsoft announced that it will be "up to the developer" if they want their game to be able to be re-used/shared. Which I think is a smart decision.

I personally am not as upset about the no shared games as other people are.

In all honesty it's not fair to the developer/publisher.

Pretend you're a music artist, someone buys your song off iTunes, or some other media program. Then you copy the file over and over again and give it to your friends who want it. The artist loses out on the profit for his/her work he/she put so much time into.

Nintendo had a good E3 Showing, They are not in the "Console War" they are just providing fun games/alternative content for less serious players. (Nintendo is huge hit overseas)

When you take a look at both consoles the amount of features and content you're getting is almost completely different.

After doing much research on the two, at this point Sony is basically telling consumers what they want to hear and not showing much to back it up. Compared to Xbox One which has itself set up for a long long future.

With the recent 1 billion dollars Microsoft spent on exclusive games for the Xbox One has to tell you something.

Also, the cost of each console is relatively the same. The Xbox One is 499 Dollars. This INCLUDES Connect, and a Mic. The Ps4 is 399 dollars, NO PLAYSTATION EYE (An additional 70 dollar purchase) NO MOVE WANDS/STICKS and NO MIC.

After previously bashing Microsoft in previous posts, I'm not necessarily changing my mind about which one I like more, but I am opening up my mind to both parties and what you're getting.

Also.. who cares about the always online policy? StarCraft 2 makes you be online. Everyone has internet in all parts of the world.

ONE MORE THING! JDman - They have not made a Halo for PC since Halo Evolution(2000 I think?). There is a Halo coming to windows 8 platforms (phones and ipads) but it's not an FPS. There most likely will never be a Halo for PC again.

I honestly think Microsoft will apologize about the whole DRM thing at this rate, but eh...

I know it isn't really E3 specific, but i'm very excited for the next ace attorney game, the latest trailer made me jizz my pants haha

Hello, I'm going to directly copy/paste an article. The credited source is of course from IGN.

"There is something to be said of the word integrity.

Having integrity proves to the world that you are true to yourself and to others. It shows that you stand up for what you believe in, and against all odds, do not lose sight of yourself. Integrity should be the backbone of all companies and should be what we all strive for, each and every day. That's why, when Microsoft confirmed it would be abandoning its strict DRM and online requirements for the Xbox One, I was more upset than I thought I would be.

This is, obviously, a direct response to Sony's masterful showcase at E3 a couple weeks ago. I can just imagine the meetings those on the Xbox team had the next day. It must have been a very rude awakening because I'm sure they assumed Sony would be coming out with the same details. Lo and behold, not only does the PlayStation 4 have none of those restrictions, but they are launching $100 cheaper than the Xbox One!! It was clearly time for Microsoft to show off why what they were doing was important, and show people why the Xbox One would warrant those preposterous policies.

NOPE!

They threw in the white flag and are removing all DRM and always-connected restrictions from their newest console. While this is truly great for the Xbox One, it doesn't bode so well for Microsoft in the eyes of the people.

Do you actually believe if Sony were to come out with these same policies we would even be having this discussion right now? There is no way Microsoft would have changed its tune if that were the case. They are a successful business. They are smart enough to know when they are losing a battle and are scrambling to rekindle the love of the consumer.

If you look at Sony's rise in good will from their PlayStation 4 reveal back in February, you will see a company that puts gamers first and doesn't need to panic. They have been making it easier for us to enjoy the games we love from the beginning. We've seen reports that indie development is much better on PlayStation. We know that they chose not to focus on "tv, tv, tv, sports, sports, call of duty, call of duty..." and that they are delivering the experiences we want out of a GAMING system.

Microsoft is just playing to the wind. They are reacting to the horrible press and backlash they received and are trying to right the ship. While that is respectable, the past isn't so easy forgettable. You can't forget the fact that they tried to force us into these new laws and that people would suffer for no real, valid, reason.

You can't forget the fact that those people who are serving our country overseas or live in an area without broadband would not be able to play due to the routine 24-hour check in. Microsoft chose the wrong path, plain and simple, and are now fixing it. Not due to a realization that what they were doing was wrong, but because a competitor forced their hand.

We will have to see how this all plays out in the end, but one thing remains true. Microsoft has embodied the cold, heartless, company persona and it's a true shame to see. They have a great product and these restrictions should never have been there in the first place.

It would have been nice to see Microsoft stand up for its policies. To show the world that what they were doing would benefit us and change the way we play for the better.

All that aside, I think this is a great win for the Xbox One. It is incredible to see the gaming community rise up together and have their voice so clearly heard and see change actually happen. I appreciate that Microsoft did listen and this will benefit both of us come November. That being said, we now know the true face of Microsoft."

Enjoy the read and discuss.
