Back in Diablo, i had the char name of Belgareth, Clark though this was hilarious, no idea why, as i started hanging out with him and a few other members, i relized just how much he wanted to make ConFed the best clan on Bnet, so ive stuck around for a very long time, i enjoy everything about the clan, ranks, command structure, awards

i personally wouldnt change my descision to join ConFed

Back in 2010-11, I was friends with a guy named Zerg. (I still am to this day)
While we were playing a game of Footmen Frenzy, he introduced me to The Confederation by linking me to:
confederation.ath.cx, the original ConFed site.
I checked out the website and loved the Laws and Ranks system, among other things.
I checked out the Clan Channel and ran into guys like CrunChy, KiLLeR, SyXx, Roland, DaFoo, ThuG, etc.
All of these factored into why I stayed in ConFed and joined it in the first place.
Unfortunately, ConFed shut down in 2011 and I joined Relentless Heroes for a brief period of time. I reunited with CrunChy while playing Ladder Team Games with ThuG.
CrunChy then re-built ConFed, re-recruited me into it, and the pieces fell into place right afterwards.
And here I am. cool

I joined all the way back in 2006 because I had a friend in ConFed and wanted to be apart of the clan with him. I liked the ranks and the organization that the Clan brought and also thought the Legends page was awesome almost like going down in Clan history and not being forgotten. I liked having a large number of people to be able to play games with and make friends.

So I went with 8 because I've been in the clan on separate occasions. Initially I joined back in BW because I wanted to be a Keeper, there were a handful of good friends of mine on the team already and despite the Keepers losing to the team that I was playing for in that particular clan war, I wanted an excuse to leave and I saw a lot of potential in the clan and already had friends in place as well. The most recent reason for joining was seeing an old team of mine still alive and kicking, met a few key players and people almost immediately, and decided it was a good time to rejoin a great community full of fantastic people and awesome leadership.

I played a Peep game with Kaya and Jacobis and they played so well I wanted to learn from them, Jacobis told me about the clan and so I joined the community chat and played a few 1v1's with people and really enjoyed it. This clan has a good group of members and I think I'll learn a lot.

I joined because I used to be in a clan, RH Gaming, and it all fell apart eventually. I stopped for a while and came back. I wanted a clan where there would be people online who wanted the same goal: Become better plays, take place in tournaments, clan wars, etc.. I wanted to just have fun with others instead of just playing by myself on the time. Gets kind of lonely.

I think I joined because of the website tbh. I really liked all the detail, and my old clan had a terrible website. This looked very professional, and organized, so I applied. Within a couple hours TG enlisted me, and invited me to the clan. I was amazed by the quality and content on the website; I looked through all the ranks, and settled on wanting to become CRA. I was also a lowly bronze, and I saw many high level players in the chat. Within a couple months of learning with them, playing with them, and being taught by them I rose to high platinum leagues.

But even more so than that, I loved the respect the members showed (and still do) for each other. *Salutes* when I joined, everybody saying bye when somebody left, and people actually talking to me in my other clan, I was a recruiter, but I still wasn't noticed, or cared about. ConFed has always been here for me, with open arms, and a warm environment

I managed to come across Op ConFed in Brood War and joined. I was on WC3 and actually had to go out and buy Brood War after a week of joining. I remember reading the Academy and actually printing it out to study so I could pass my Cadet Test. I thought to myself that I wanted to be in the CRA, High Command, and eventually a Legend (turns out I managed to do all that).

I came back to The Confederation in SC2 after CrunChy contacted me because I realized that I had a chance to bring back that same ConFed experienced to hundreds (and hopefully thousands) of SC2 Players that I had. It is a one-of-a-kind experience that no other organization can offer. While we may not be the best fit for everyone, we do our best to make sure everyone feels at home and has a purpose.

I'm glad to hear all of the reasons that you all joined and also the reasons why you remain part of ConFed. You are what makes this clan so special.

Cheers,
President Oblivion

I work really well with guidelines and structure. Not to mention its actually fun to RP a command structure in a setting like this. Im only sad I didn't find the confederation during its BW days

Adversity doesn't build character, It reveals it.

This is such a great thread. Really is cool to see the variety of responses and the different timeframes from which people have joined. Kristin I'm so glad you finally decided to quit being shy and started playing with other people in team games! =P

BTW I'd like to mention I've enjoyed the hell out of our past few nights playing arcade games. We should definitely organize a drunken Phantom game + teamspeak session. The hilarity of accusing everyone else of being a phantom or convincing others to follow along in your mischevious plans is unrivaled. biggrin

I joined upon chatting with (ConFed) ObeY, who was a friend of mine and my Protoss mentor in BW. When he joined, he convinced me to join, as I had just left Atlas Gaming and joined Prometheus Gaming. Due to not knowing many people, I left them, and ended up joining ConFed.

I was really surprised by how mannered and kind everyone is. It still shocks me that I've never had a problem with any Confed member yet, and, in addition to amazing clan structure, I was attracted to the clan, and now I am trying to do everything I can to help us grow and prosper!

I did most of play Starcraft playing win guys at my college for the CSL. There was one semester where it just wasn't working and the team slowly fell apart. I then wandered battle.net alone until HOTS came out. I then joined ConFed so Id have people to play with and they were the only clan I found that had a dedicated website for SC2.

First time: Sal. I'm back because of Alex and JDman contacting me after years of being away. A lot has changed and I'm impressed with the current clan. I'm glad to see this clan is still going even despite all that has happened.

I selected a combination of the answers above (#8).

I played Telos in a 3 person FFA match. Telos played Protoss, another guy as a Zerg, and I was also Zerg.
The match probably lasted an hour and was an epic struggle that ended up exhausting the entire map's resources. Telos took the win after his Colossus army crushed my Roach/Hydra/Corruptors/Swarm Hosts.

We ended up adding each other as friends. Fast forward a week or so, Telos reached out to play a few team matches. We played, we crushed other teams, and Telos extended the invitation to join.

I took a look at the clan's website, the structure, the skill level and long history of this organization and I was sold. As a college fraternity alumni, I understand the importance of Comradery within organizations and within a first impression of the Confederation's website, structure, forums, and history I got the feeling that this is definitely a clan I'd like to be a part of.
