Greetings Confederation Members,

I come to you today not as your Domestic Advisor, but as a Confederation Legend. For those of you who don’t know, The Confederation offers a special status to members who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to serve this clan. To quote from our founding member, President Clark, this is what Legend Status is:

Quote From President Clark - Legends
“Many times a ConFed member will enter The Confederation zealously, actively, online constantly, and working diligently to ensure that ConFed is made to grow and prosper. These fine members often accerlate through the ranks, eventually attaining a rank of height/importance from which their undying loyalty and dedicated can be manifested in the Clan...

...Provided the ConFed member has served in ConFed for a sufficiently long period of time and their presence in the Clan has had monumental impact, the option to retire is theirs to take. In this event, the member is awarded a Confederation Medal of Honor and is given "Legendary Status." This is the highest honor any ConFed member can hope to achieve. Legends do not have any RANK, but they merit the GREATEST level of respect from all members. Legendary members are entitled to hold channel ops, sit in on Join Chiefs of Staff meetings (If they choose), and are available to advise leaders and the general membership as their time permits. Furthermore, ALL ConFed members are asked, but not required, to *Salute* a legendary member the first time they see him/her enter the channel on any given day….

As you may have realized, being a Legend is the highest honor any member can receive. Under normal circumstances, only the President can declare someone as a Legend, but since I am the only active Legend in The Confederation, I take this honor upon my self to recognize President CrunChy.

President CrunChy has worked hard for ConFed over the past 7 years. I knew from the moment I recruited him that he would do great things for this clan. His ambition and drive were noticeable within the first few weeks of being in the clan. Even back then, the JCOS made notice of CrunChy’s hard work in the UMC.

Legend status isn’t about how “clean” your record is or how many hours you log, it is ultimately about your impact to the clan. Being a Legend is something that you cannot earn or achieve by good deeds alone, it is a lifestyle and a work ethic that you commit to each and everyday. Though, this does not imply that Legends are perfect, we are far from that.

CrunChy has earned this status through his dedication and loyalty to the clan. If he had failed to execute the duties given to him by our former President SyXx as Vice President, The Confederation would have died at the release of Stacraft 2. He realized that it was up to him to save the clan that had been alive for almost 15 years. The history, hard work, loyalty, and memories of hundreds of members were left to him to protect and preserve so that you, our current members could enjoy this clan and all that it has to offer.

Since beginning The Confederation in Starcraft 2, we have lost a significant amount of role playing that the clan used to thrive upon. Some of that is due to how different SC:BW is compared to SC2, but some of it is from the lack of understanding of the significance of certain positions and statuses.

There are only 31 Confederation Members to ever be inducted as Legends. I was fortunate to be the 30th inductee as a Legend, about a year before Brood War was essentially destroyed by the release of Wings of Liberty. With CrunChy being the 32nd inductee, this would mean that roughly only 0.64% of all members earn Legend status. I hope this helps to resonate with you the magnitude, respect, and honor that comes with being a Confederation Legend.

As a final thought, I want you to understand that not only members on the Legends Page make a great impact on The Confederation. It is a small snapshot of members who have served this clan with dedication, honor, and integrity. There are a lot of members who have been in The Confederation and never received this accreditation. While this is unfortunate, their impact is never forgotten, Legend or not.

Ladies and Gentleman, with this being said, I formally nominate President CrunChy to be inducted as a Confederation Legend as of Friday, January 17th, 2014.

Salutes,

A1a3a1(Legend)

It is encouraged that you post a reply in support of this Nomination Request and please provide any examples or stories you have to share about why CrunChy deserves this prestigious Confederation honor!

ABOUT TIME!!!

I second everything A1A3A1 has to say about Crunchy.

Over the past almost year that i have been in the Confederation i have seen so much change and so many happy faces. I've first handily seen Crunchy put a lot of time and effort into the clan. He has given up many things to make sure the clan is, how it is today (to crunchy if you know what i'm saying, wink wink). If it was running a event, sitting down the HC and JCOS in a meeting or, working on the website Crunchy gave up time to do it all. He also put in 110% effort in everything he has done. Crunchy has been a great leader to the Confederation and has made many fellow Confed members never want to leave Starcraft. In addition, with him having to work and a lot and having a girlfriend, i don't know he has any time with us! Lastly, to close things off, I want to say thank you Crunchy for everything that you have to the clan, you are a hard worker and without you the clan would be gone and I would not be playing startcraft at all.

I Zmic would like to agree with A1A3A1's nomination into have Crunchy become a Legend.

Salutes to all,

Stellar Security Director Zmic

It's about time he was nominated as a legend. I saw him rebuild this glorious clan; retyping everything in this website word for word. using his own money to buy a team speak server to bring each of us closer. i have never seen anyone be as dedicated as him to build a clan for one of the all time best real time strategy game in the market.

Congratulations CrunChy in becoming a legend.

Even though I haven't been in this clan for long, or have done any close to the amount of time some members have served, I see Crunchy as one of the best Clan Owners on Starcraft 2. He is reliable, responsible, smart, helpful, kind, sensible, and has a million other great traits. He is an inspiration to all, and I congatulate him on becoming a Legend.

Since I joined a few members have stood out from the others. But the person who stood out the most in my opinion is our very own president, Crunchy. His hard word and dedication to this clan is what kept it running for so long and I don't know where this clan would be without him. I think he deserves this nomination with all the honours that come with it for all his work and dedication. He is truly an example for all members to follow.

Keep up the good work and being a great leader.

Crunchy deserves this honor, if it weren't for him The Confederation as we know it would be dead, as Vice President he took it upon himself to make sure the values of ConFed didn't die with the release of StarCraft 2, as a Brood War member what Crunchy has done with reviving something that I have loved means so much to me and everyone who is and has been apart of this great clan. I hope he continues to impress us as President of this clan and heres to many many more years of the confederation. I whole heartedly support this and have been waiting to see Crunchy on the Legends page.

Because of CrunChy The Confederation was finally able to make the move to StarCraft 2. Without CrunChy The Confederation long life span would have been over, but he charged the paddles one last time and the clan has been alive and well every since. From when I was bugging him to join the clan to recently bugging him about the eSports forum, he has been there. Ever since my university's CSL team disbanded I searched for a home, and I found one. Its because of CrunChy that I continue to play StarCraft, and hopefully will for a long time to come.

It was because of our president, CrunChy, that the clan came back from the depths of Battle.net. Without him, the clan wouldn't have been brought back like an excellent community and an even greater group of friends. Me and him have had some itchy times, and even though we don't see eye to eye, he is wise enough to keep this clan alive and keep going off of the steps of our old BW days. He deserves the legend status. Go forth make us proud again.

Though I am new in the clan, I know how difficult it can be to organize and keep people motivated. President CrunChy, I feel you should be the next legend.

Thanks for everything you do!

Heh, where to begin?

I met CrunChy when I was a 12 year old kid, back in late 2010-early 2011.

Immediately after joining ConFed, CrunChy's strong sense of discipline and

nonexistent tolerance for laziness became apparent to me.

I wondered if I could ever become as well respected as CrunChy.

Eventually when ConFed shut down in 2011, I had a brief stint with Clan RH (Relentless Heroes) that only

lasted about a year before I said fuck it and left.

In early March of 2013, I was in a in-game party with ex-ConFed member ThuG when ThuG suddenly says

"Here comes a face you havent seen in a while", and CrunChy joins the party.

I was perplexed, how did CrunChy find me again?

To put it short, CrunChy re-recruited me into ConFed and gave me back my old rank
(Which was Master Sergeant at the time).

Eventually when HOTS got released, I asked CrunChy a question:
Do you think ConFed will be brought back to its former glory?

He said:
I KNOW it will be brought back to its former glory.

The amount of confidence in his voice re-assured me that the old CrunChy I knew still retained his strong sense
of discipline and work ethic.

Less than a year has passed since ConFed's rebirth, and CrunChy has already done so much to make ConFed a dominant
clan once more.

Our branches are more or less filled out, we are consistently staying capped at 100 members, we have dedicated
JCOS officers, skilled players in-game, our own social media pages, and more.

To be honest, I don't really care if this new ConFed doesn't live up to the old one's legacy.

I just want this new ConFed to carve out just as great of a legacy of its own.

With CrunChy at the helm, that seems like a strong possibility.

CrunChy, I'd just like to say Thank You for all the hard work you've done to rebuild ConFed.

You single-handedly spearheaded this entire rebuilding process and as a result, ConFed is where it is today because
of you.

You helped me mature into the current ConFed member that I am today, beyond my previous 12 year old self of before.

ConFed has given me something to live for and dedicate my time to in StarCraft 2, and you're the reason behind it all.

GG Well played President, all the other ConFed legends will be happy to welcome you amongst them as an equal in Rank and importance.

"Being in ConFed, is unlike being in any other clan. It becomes part of you, part of the total star craft experience"
-President SyXx

When i first found out that B.net would be finally adding clan support for HOTS i was beyond thrilled. With clan support we could finally have the clan back the way it was. Then the truth hit me. Everyone that made the old ConFed what it was, were gone, or so afk it was pointless to try and speak too them, and on top of that the original website was gone lost forever, or so i thought.

After the patch was released i jumped to claim the [ConFed] tag and The Confederation clan channel. Feeling all alone, no website, only my memories of how things where supposed to run i frantically looked all over the internet, for anyone or anything resembling our old leaders. None were to be found. Until two days after the patch i got an urgent message from then Vice President Crunchy. He contacted me telling me he indeed was still on, thanked me for grabbing the channel and provided me with his cell phone number. The night we transferred ownership, and talked about the future.

I'm not sure how much more clearly i can state this, had it not been for our president this clan WOULD not be here today. In the end days of the old clan, the old website only worked some days, so Crunchy took the initiative, and took screen shots of the important pages of the website. So that someday if it had to be rebuilt he could do it. When that day came after the patch he was there to work hard to rebuild the website, set up a team speak, and organize the new clan.

When new members look at the legends page they see a lot of names, quotes, and past ranks. IMHO out of the 32 legends there should really be a top 5. After much thought i have come up with who i believe should be in that top five.
1. President Crunchy
2. President SyXx
3. Ducky
4. A1a3A1(Oblivion)
5. Clark

You will notice i have placed crunchy at the number one spot. This is because when the clan died every "Leader" completely gave up on the clan except for him. As much as our last president made the clan his life, when it became too hard too keep everything together, he gave up as well. Crunchy prepared, for the day the website would die, and planned for the day when the clan could be reborn. That is true leader ship and dedication. That is Following our clan motto to the fullest extent one can. Strength to not give up even when everyone else did, Pride to care enough about saving what he could too ensure survival, and Unity for being there when it counted to bring everything back together in the organized manner it is today.

Too me President Crunchy will go down as the best leader we will have ever had period. If not for him The Confederation would be nothing more then fond memories in the minds of those who served.

*Salutes*

My reason for the nomination of President Crunchy is that since I was ever introduced to the clan, Crunchy, even when he was not yet President, I remember being able to hang out with him in the clan channel, play some games, or talk at a very personal level. I developed such a fond relationship with Clan ConFed BECAUSE of two people:

1 - ZZZ my recruiter
2 - Crunchy - the actual GLUE that enabled me to stay connected and actually be worried during my long period of inactivity about my clan status.

This is my new home for Starcraft. I originally came from the Blizzforums/SC Legacy community, but they kind of died out in the multiplayer scene in Broodwar, and come SC2, they did not have enough members left to keep the SC2 side alive long. I had joined Blizzforums in 2003, and stayed with it till 2011. This is why, seeing how dedicated Crunchy was to me, a very tiny part of the clan at the time, not even an official member even, I feel that Crunchy deserves to be called a Legend by all means.

Thank you, Crunchy for anchoring me in the Clan. Thank you for doing the same for everyone in the Clan to-date. I am very sure that every one of us who HAS had contact with him at one point or another has felt his passion for this community and his drive to keep it rolling and keep it moving forward.

This kind of Leadership is what we always needed, and I am really happy and grateful to be part of the 'Crunchy era' of The Confederation Clan.

Hail Clan ConFed!

** Salutes President CrunChy**

Thanks for reading,

Hello,

All these posts and kind words are really touching to me. I'm not going to toot my own horn or boast about myself, but I do have something I want you to all know.

I was not the person you see today, I actually was quite different. In old battle net I did a lot of things I am not happy with. I did a lot of harm to many Clans, even this one, which I was exiled from ConFed. However, I soon found myself alone and out of place. I tried for well over a year to get back into the Clan as ConFed was the only home I knew. I was turned down time after time. After being rejected so many times I took a very long break from Starcraft.

Eventually when I got older I logged back into Battle net for the first time in years. I reached out to ConFed and I had been voted back into the Clan by their current High Command group. I was a lot more mature than I previously was. Everyone was very uneasy with me being back in the Clan, but they soon realized I had changed. I did change. I started to fall in love with the Clan, it's structure, it's members. Soon ConFed became my family and I was on frequently. I worked my way up through the entire UMC Branch, each promotion I went through without any leeway. I waited each day, and earned each requirement to be promoted (There were a lot more requirements than there are now). Fast forward I became Fleet Admiral and eventually High Command (Confederation Domestic Advisor). Our old President said upon my return that I would never reach Captain.

Working your way through the Ranks in old ConFed/Starcraft was very difficult and a lot of people fought for Ranks because we had so many members.

Fast forward a bunch, about 4 months before Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty was released I had been promoted to Vice President. After Wings of Libery was released this Clan took a stumble, I was Vice President in Wings of Liberty as well for some time. Our old President was still active and we tried to do what we could to transition over but Battle net had no Clan features at all. Things kind of fell apart and our old President and myself, along with the rest of the Clan faded away. Our website was shut down as well.

Fast forward a year now, 1 month before HoTS I had learned of plans for Clans, but our old President was MIA. As JDman said

Quote
"In the end days of the old clan, the old website only worked some days, so Crunchy took the initiative, and took screen shots of the important pages of the website. So that someday if it had to be rebuilt he could do it. When that day came after the patch he was there to work hard to rebuild the website, set up a team speak, and organize the new clan."

So I was prepared and anxious to reboot the Clan.

The point I am trying to make is that if you make a mistake in your life, you can always come back from it, or at least give it your best. Nobody is perfect, I sure am not. People have their good days and their bad days. However, with hard work and dedication you can achieve anything no matter who you are. Whether that be a real life goal or something different. Just never give up and fight for what you want and believe in.

I give you my word that The Confederation is in my best interest and I am committed to ensuring the survival and prosper of this Clan. This Clan has been around since BEFORE Starcraft, it was originally a Diablo Clan. I will always do my best to give you my all. No person will go ignored. I might pay for a lot of things, I might make a lot of final decisions, but this is still not my Clan, it's our Clan. Being able to log on and see people enjoying the Clan, it's features, and Starcraft 2 is more than enough reward.

I do humbly accept "Legend Status" and I can not thank you all enough for organizing this. This was a big surprise and I still am in awe.

Thank you.
