Xbox One Midnight Launch

Hello!

Recently as you all are aware I just go back from vacation! During my Vacation I attended a midnight launch for the new Xbox One. What an experience!

The Xbox One is definitely by far the most innovative home entertainment system you can get.

With the Xbox One, all I have to say is "Xbox, On". This turns on the Xbox, my TV, and my Dish Network. I'm then brought to the Xbox Dashboard. From there, the Kinect Sensor recognizes my face and automatically signs me in.

Once I'm at this point, the possibilities are endless. I can watch TV or Netflix. I can surf Twitch. I can browse the internet. I can talk to my friends. There is much much more. All with using my voice. I can even do multiple things at once, the Xbox simply splits my screen in half.

EX: I'm watching a Football game on TV, at the same time I know that my friend "John" who lives a few states away is watching the same game. My favorite team gets a touchdown. I can say "Xbox, Snap Skype John" and instantly my screen is split in two, one side being the game, the other side being my friend, we can then talk about the game together.

These all are only extras however. The real experience is with the video games. From graphics that blow your mind away, to a controller that is the best controller on the face of the planet, you will never not find an aw-inspiring moment.

Did you have an awesome kill in Call of Duty or Battlefield where you got the best headshot ever and wish you could relive it? Awesome! Just say "Xbox, Record That", your Xbox will automatically DVR the last 30 seconds of game play, which your friends can view later and you can also upload to the internet.

Xbox One has dedicated Servers, which means there is NEVER in game lag due to a host connection problem. Everything is always seamless and fast.

I could go on and on. I don't want to start a fanboy war. If you're still deciding on the Xbox One or PS4, it is clear as crystal that the Xbox One is a Next-Generation gaming experience and the PS4 is just a hardware upgrade.

Below you'll find some pictures I took while at the midnight launch.

This guy was first in line. Was there since 8:30AM

Just a line picture, you can't see the back of the line past the sign.

As far as I know I was the only person to receive these extras. (I know the GameStop manager because he shops where I work)

I think I was the only guy who had female support. This is me and my girlfriend.

Here is everything I got.

Thank you for reading,
President CrunChy

Greetings,

Just like CrunChy, I went to the midnight launch and bought the best piece of technology I've ever owned. Seriously, this isn't the future of gaming, it's the future of at home entertainment.

Regardless of the features and everything it can do, it opens up the abilities of the Xbox to extend far past the gaming realm which is important for someone, like myself, who isn't a hardcore gamer. Xbox Music, Skype, Xbox Fitness, Gaming, Netflix, Hulu Plus, TV, Internet, etc are all just a couple of features it has that make it so unique.

I really am happy with my purchase and encourage anyone thinking about getting a Xbox One to do so!

Cheers,

Confederation Domestic Advisor Oblivion

I heard they have had a number of broken ones within the 1st week..

Of course they did. It's a major new console. PS4 had a number of issues as well.

Well, I hope they make halo 5 for PC, because I will not be buying an Xbox one. Its way too intrusive into your home life. Bill gates can go fuck him self, and his globalist ways. I don't care how cool it is. You give up a lot of privacy just so it can "turn on" when you tell it too.

JDman, you should look into the Privacy revisions Microsoft has made regarding the Kinect and what it gathers in terms of your Privacy. You can read their official Privacy guidelines at www.xbox.com

Edited previous post, sorry for sounding a bit harsh JDman!

JDman, please do not post false claims unless you have proven data to back it up. You can read their official Privacy guidelines at www.xbox.com

Come on really? Getting a bit defensive over a dumbed down, over hyped/priced computer.

Ill have to side with JD, fuck Bill Gates, Microsoft, the XBox and all the bullshit talk about "Next Gen" that comes with it, only thing that is next gen about this box is the consumerism it inspires.

CrunChy and I are both satisfied with our purchase and that's really all that matters. It's your choice as a consumer to buy it or not. Ignorance is bliss.

Everyone should be free to their own opinions, even JDman.
Nobody should get personally upset over what is said about the xbox.

Lets keep in mind this is a product, not a person.

Should be noted myself and cruncher cleared everything up, just a difference of opinions blown out of proportion.

I wonder how long it will be before "Halo 5" is released. They did show a trailer but they did not actually announce a name for it.

Metal Gear Solid 5 was announced and show cased but it's not coming out until 2015-2017.

I have seen several pics of "Halo" for xbox one for $60.... is this just an expensive copy of the original game for the one, or is it "Halo 5" ?

It will definitely be the next halo in the franchise (Which was said at E3). The pictures may just be a place holder for different image in the future. They might also just call it "Halo" as well, to signify the start of the franchise on a new generation. There is no concrete answer for what it will be called.

Looks like it's slated for 2014.

Well, as for the games themselves, theres nothing i would prefer to play on a console then on my pc, and i dont know of any console exclusives i give a damn about.

Keep in mind im runninga 8 grand computer with 4 GPU's, so my computers graphics blow the "next gen" consoles out of the water.

It's matter of choice. I personally enjoy sitting in front of my TV with my controller in my hand playing games more so than in front of a computer.

PC will always have superior graphics. But the community/games will always be more popular on consoles, except for RTS and MMO games like Starcraft and World of Warcraft.

Well, i also sit on my couch in front of my tv when i play my computer, have been using it as a monitor for a long time now, and a controller will never be able to give you the control and freedom of a keyboard and mouse.

What does any console have that compares to the RTS/Moba scene on PC?

I might pick an xbox one up at the end of the year or in the middle of next year, I want the library to build up a bit more before I spend my 600.
