Long story short
The changes incoming to D3 look great and im gonna start playing some again, might even do some hardcore. If you wanna play message me here or in SC2 and ill give you my real id's.

I always found D3 as a great stress reliever after playing SC2, and besides that it had (has) the potential to be one of the best games. I know we are mainly a SC2 clan and I don't want to pull away from that by any means but I know alot of us have deep backgrounds in the Diablo series, in my clan before ConFed we ran giant SC:BW, WC3, and D2 all at once. What let us do this obviously is the beauty of Battle.net 1.0 and how connected all the games were, when people didn't feel like playing one game they switched to another and could still be directly active in the clan. I'm sure ConFed had something similar at the time.

I know Battle.net 1.0 and 2.0 are very different and there's not as much connection (i.e Diablo 3 players also being in the clan channel) and Diablo 3 has been wrecked by small but stupid mistakes, As slow as Blizzard is they seem to be actually heading in the right direction on both of thos points. When HoTS came out they finally added the clan and group features, they are under tremendous pressure both from SC2 fans (comparing SC2 to LoL) and Diablo 2 fans for how anti-social the new titles are. I think its a good bet the D3 expansion will try to fix that.

On the game itself, it looks like they also have a chance of saving D3, before the expansion coming early in 2014 they have said they will be closing the auction house for good and redoing the drop system, this will bring back the depth that made Diablo 2 last so long, its going completely change the game and give it Diablo 2's dynamic trading system. You wont constantly be finding useless loot and selling it for tiny amounts on the AH, stacking up gold and buying the item you have been looking at in the AH as the only item you really want for that slot for weeks.

Like in Diablo 2 some items (runes, soj) will become currency (along with gold), You will have to do alot more interacting with other players i.e; finding players with items you want. This will be alot more rewarding because of the new loot system, Uniques will be all possible levels of it instead of the current 1, meaning the same unique can be found for a low level and a max level players, the stats on each will be completely different depending on what level it dropped. This will create a massive amount more items and each player you try to trade with will be a unique encounter itself, you wont be trading with npcs or auction houses for gear.. you find it one way or the other. With the changes to uniques rares will become (with their complete randomness) alot funner too.

This is just a couple of the changes, there is plenty more and I suggest you go check them out, might be cool if crunchy could set a forum up or something if we get enough intrest.

Well, yes, its exactly like SC2. You cant log on without being up to date.
If you mean the expansion, it comes out in March, so you dont need to be updating that just now.

I currently have a level 60(20) Barb on softcore, I am able to solo MP8 on it, but recently I have started playing Hardcore and have a level 28 Demon Hunter.

Playing Hardcore gives the game a whole new perspective, items are much harder to get and the game is about building up your "empire" rather then a single char.
