For the ones that do not know, I am talking to my guidance counselor right now to set up my educational plan!

I am going to school for Applied Science in Power Plant Technology. (AAS) Associates Degree.

I actually do not need a degree to get into this field, as it does on the job training. It just helps me get my foot in the door if I have some knowledge of the job if I went to school. It also helps having a military background for having characteristics and being reliable.

Not Satisfied: Fulfill the requirements of the Power Plant Technology program.

Degree Requirements Checklist AAS:

__ Earned a minimum of 3 credits in ENGL 110
__ Earned a minimum of 3 credits in ENGL 120, 125 or COMM 110
__ Earned a minimum of 3 credits in Arts & Humanities/Social & Behavioral Science
__ Earned a minimum of 6 credits in Math, Science & Technology
__ Earned prescribed technical requirements
__ Earned a minimum of 60 total credits
(Academic Skills Courses (ASC) do not apply toward graduation.)
__ Earned a minimum of 15 institutional credit (BSC only)
__ Earned a minimum 2.00 institutional GPA (BSC only)
__ Earned a minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA (BSC + Transfer)
__ Earned a minimum 2.00 GPA in precribed technical program
__ Cleared all college obligations
__ Declared program of study is degree-seeking
__ Filed an Application for Degree

Reason why I posted this, is for support! This field pays roughly $71,000-$212,000 depending on job title, location, and experience. I will be posting here the status of how I am doing! Wish me luck!

Damaged, I am not sure you know but this is what I do. I designed more than 70 MW of solar electricity all over Ontario. Each site is classified as a power generation facility. I now have transitioned into the Operations and Maintenance side of things where I have been able to learn even more. If you have questions let me know.

It would be good to find courses which relate to 'relaying' and 'protection and control'. Those guys make the most cash. I am slowly learning more about the programming side for this type of work and was thinking about taking a course on it as well.

Oh and also we are a global company, with most main offices located in the US. So when you're done if you think you want to get into the renewables. Let me know.

Warlord, I am looking into what my father does and he works on Power plants for waste management. Their plant burns trash into electricity.
