Did you know that in the beginning Ancient Rome, used the same belief system as the Greeks. Many of the gods Greece worshipped transitioned over to Rome, they were just given new names, all except one.

here is the list of the major 14 Greek Gods and their Roman instance.
(Left= Greece/Right = Rome)

1. Zeus -- Jupiter
2. Poseidon -- Neptune
3. Hades -- Pluto (unsure)
4. Hera -- Juno
5. Demeter -- Ceres
6. Hestia -- Vesta
7. Ares -- Mars
8. Athena -- Minerva
9. Dinoysus -- Bachuus
10. Hermes -- Mercury
11. Aphrodite -- Venus
12. Apollo -- Apollo (Apollo was known to both Romans and Greeks)
13. Artemis -- Diana
14. Hephaestus -- Vulcan

I'll add to this because why not:

1. Zeus was known to be an absolute womanizer, even though he was married to Hera.
He was also the most powerful God in existence.
2. Poseidon was known as "Earth-Shaker" and was God of Sea and horses.
He wielded a trident and had temper-tantrums of sorts.
3. Hades was Ruler of the DEAD, NOT death itself.
He wasn't an evil God, he was just very cruel and disliked as a result.
4. Hera was the prototypical "jealous housewife" of Zeus.
The people that she hated the most were Zeus's lovers, and Herakles (better known as Hercules).
5. Demeter was the Goddess of Harvest.
She had a daughter named Persephone that was forced to marry Hades.
6. I actually don't know anything about Hestia.
7. Ares was the God of War.
Although he was very powerful, he was also a coward.
8. Athena was the Goddess of Wisdom.
She sprouted from Zeus's head; fully-grown and clad in battle armor.
9. Dionysus was the God of Wine.
He was a mysterious God and was known to be the polar opposite of Apollo.
10. Hermes was the most commonly-appearing God in Greek Mythology. He was a messenger God, famed for wearing winged sandals.
11. Aphrodite was the Goddess of Love, Sex, all that shit.
She was also the wife of Hephaestus.
12. Apollo was the quintessential Greek god, known as "the most greek of the Gods".
He's without a doubt the most well-known God and is known as the God of Light, Truth, Courage, etc.
13. Artemis was the sister of Apollo. She was the Goddess of the Hunt, Wilderness, all that stuff.
She had a cult following called the Followers of Artemis. They were all virgins, and they all hated men.
14. Hephaestus was known to be the ugliest God of all time.
He was a blacksmith God, and Aphrodite's husband.
