| 17 years ago, a noble person by the name of Clark had a vision. A vision of a gaming community that would become what we now enjoy as The Confederation. In 17 years many people have come and gone, wars waged, rules changed. However during that 17 years one thing always remained the same. The constant endevour for the clan to survive, and thrive. Many battle.net clans form in a flash, and they heat up like a rocket flying into outer space, but most of them never make it into low orbit. instead they explode in a brilliant blaze of backstabbing, top heavy douche baggery. All of the great presidents, sky marshalls, and Fleet admirals. They all started as cadets like you just trying to get along. They too became enamerd with the same goal that clark had, to ensure that The Confederation continues on. So i say too you new members, the best way to latch onto this dream. Is too live your Confed life by three simple words. Strength, Pride, Unity. How can three words mean so much? This may seem unusal too some, but in my six years in the clan i have found that those three words, and the urge to uphold them will allow anyone to travle the road to the top.
Why strength you say? Too me Strength is the enduring ability of The Confederation to always be many in number. Always have active members willing to fight along side one another. To practise day in and day out to, become the best you can be. The more active members we have, the stronger we become, the bigger in stature we become, the more wish to join us, and so on. In the old days former presidents stuck to strict guidelines, that would often deter some, such as a rule not allowing members to play as Zerg. But even then The Confederation was always full of eager new players, wanting to belong to the best clan on battle.net. Even now with this useless clan system blizzard has trolled us with. We will become strong. We may only have 100 members, but others on battle.net will wish they could have a spot among us. I promise you that. They will soon understand they are too late, and they will rage. They will attack us, and they will fail. The Confederation always has the high ground, and we always will. In battle never forget that. You are a member of The Confederation. Your power is overwhelming.
Our pride. For new members it is probably hard to have pride in something you barely know, but fear not. Being a member of this clan, already grants you respect. You should enter games with your head held high. The tag [ConFed] in front of your name, is powerful. Never be ashamed of it, and never let anyone be little you in a game for it. They are only jealous that they are not among us. Hundreds of players from around the world, of all skill levels, have shared the confed tag. Everyone from the best Chat crafter, to our keepers. Such as our current Sky Marshall Miracle. Too not have a sense of pride in what The Confederation commands over battle.net is blasfemy, and will not be tolerated. Never back down and never be ashamed of what and who we are. Be proud. We are The Confederation.
Unity. 17 years, and still together. Yes some faces have changed but The Confederation has continued to stay together even when all seemed lost. Those clans i spoke of before, the ones imploding because of top heavy douche baggery. Those clans have no unity. They go out and spam a recruitment message, and collect cannon fodder. Only to reach some obscure recruitment goal. This is fool hardy, and leads always to there demise. As a member of The Confederation, it us urged of you to go out and meet your fellow clan members, game with them, and join the brotherhood that was shared by many before you. It is this idea of unity, and togetherness that has kept this clan thriving and alive. It is something that must be encouraged, and practised at all times, and never forgotten. Why even bother having a clan if you dont know one another? Yes some clans boast 1000 plus members, and multiple channles. But why? In The Confederation, we know eachother. We grow up together, and learn from one anothers mistakes, and triumphs. All because we have unity. Fore without Unity, we have no strength and with no power, there will be nothing to have pride in, and nothing to be united under.
In conclusion, for 17 years we have been here. Hopefully for 17 more years. If we are too do so we must uphold the best ideals of The Confederation, and at the same time learn to adapt to a changing world. I ask of you new members to strive everyday to make an impact, not only on battle.net, but on the clan. Become active on the forums, play in tournements, and never be afraid to voice your opinion. You are the future of this clan, respect what it is but if you see something you dont like never be afraid to speak up. The problem with being around for so long is sometimes ideas grow stale and outdated. This cannot be allowed to happen. I will do all i can to ensure that this clan never dies, i take this statement seriously. The Confederation has been apart of my life for the past six years, it may be just a hobby, but i care about it. I ask of you new members, and old members alike. Learn to love the clan. Being apart of this clan and upholding our ideals of Strength, Pride, And Unity will bring you freindship, joy, and fond memories. I send this message out in the hopes, that it will spark an intrest inside of you, like mine was the day i passed my cadet test. Never forget Strength, Pride, Unity.

| This post is phenomenal! When I was reading this, I started really thinking about how long ConFed has been around and how successful ConFed was during that time span. ConFed has been around before I was even born x-D And when u mentioned Clans with thousands of members that have no unity, I immediately thought of Clan RH. We may have fewer members than RH, but one of us is greater than 100 of them. All Hail The Confederation!

| It's so hard to believe I've been playing battle.net and blizzard games that long. And then add the fact that Confederation has been around that same amount of time. A noble achievement.

Great post! Glad to see someone take nostalgia and serve it to us properly. We do have an infinitely organized structure with the potential to have a continuous loop of membership and leaders, so ConFed as an ideal is permanent. So long as the members want ConFed, ConFed will stay. It does good to reflect on the golden days, cuz for some of us, we hold them times dear and experienced things no one ever will again..
As far as the future goes, that's why you never see me hesitate to throw out an idea, however farfetched, into the mix to inspire a thought process that is "out of the box." In this new generation of not only Starcraft players but ConFed members, all we can do is trust that they (essentially still "we") bring it in the right direction while offering all the wisdom and direction we can; the things WE learned from years of experience when we were lowly noobs, experimenting with social ideas and implementing them into clan affairs to eventually become Confederation laws. We got a pretty good idea on how things should go, but we're not done yet!
I also encourage new ideas, however small or big, successful or failure. We gotta try to put SOMETHIN out there or else we will become stagnant and stale as Jdman pointed out. If we shit on each other's creativity (not to mention each other), it will deter us from trying to make changes, so we should encourage everyone's thoughts respectfully, but remain realistic in our approach. We don't need to revamp anything, but constant sharpening and reevaluating of our policies should remain open to appeal so long as it isn't perfect. The changes recently; KeepeRs + Ship is a HUGE statement that we're DEFF ready for bigger challenges socially, mechanically, and industrially!
In the end, it IS a game, and this is all for fun, but if we try hard enough, and practice enough cooperation, and get along, we really could make an impact on the community even more than we already have. So, continue to live, Confederation, and our glory shall continue to reach new heights!
